 Last Month (Dec-2010)

Ain't got much further with the Irish directories (about half done)
I have been working on my bike though. New fork seals, I've polished the fork legs too. Not easy as it was rough cast aluminium. New head stock bearings too. Just new brake pads to do, as well as the normal oil change, new oil filter and spark plugs (standard service).
Dunno if I'll be ride it much though, with petrol more than £6 a gallon (or gas at $9 a gallon if you want it in yank terms).

Should also let you know, despite what I read in my Haynes workshop concerning the removal of the fork seals wouldn't work on either leg, I had to cut through the old seals (using a sharp knife, a hammer and a scribe).
It might work with the XL, but the top bush on the '98 vtr, it would not budge (it's  looks 3 times longer than the one shown in the book too). Anyway job done.
Looks at the Haynes for info on head stock.... hmm soz, ain't got a puller to fit, got a hammer and a good engineering screwdriver, so that's out. Didn't have the right size drift either. So I cut a socket in half, ground out the teeth to fit, shoved that in the iner ring of the bearing, put a good ring spanner on the half of socket & hit it a couple of hundred times. Job done.
I'll be brebuilding the front end tomorrow.
 Soz no photo's of that.

Bike tested, but not had the normal service. Pain stopped play on that (was in too much pain to concentrate on the web site either after the front end rebuild
Two days ago, I've been able to get a lot of prep I had to do for the quick respray. I'm only giving it a quick blow over. but needed to sand out all the little chips bad scratches in the paint.
Today I'm going to the rest of prep.
I hope to be spraying the tank and rear plastics tonight. If I'm able I'll start on the new brake pads/plugs & oil filter tomorrow.
Then, IF I feel up to it, I'll get on with the rest of the Irish pages.
 11-02-2011

Managed to get the tank respryed, just a quick over, half way through. I can do these things, but it just takes a lot of rests, a little and often.
Eventualy I come out with something to please the eye (well mine at least).
 12-02-2011

All work on my VTR was done by 17th. I've been unable to ride it. Maybe today. Maybe not, was depressed due to pain, lack of cash & of course every thing that comes out of Camerons mouth.
Here what he said today, everything to be contracted out to the private sector. Yeah right Cameron, we hear ya, we remember when they contracted out hospital food, and he thinks it will be for the better. damn idiot.
 I ain't doing any more

This goes out for ALL the brothers & sisters we have lost

I saw you,
hug your purse closer to you in the grocery store line.
But, you didn't see me,
put an extra $10.00 in the collection plate last Sunday.

I saw you,
pull your child closer when we passed each other on the sidewalk.
But, you didn't see me,
playing Santa at the local mall.

  I saw you,
change your mind about going into the restaurant.
>But, you didn't see me,
when I took time off from work to run toys to the homeless.

I saw you,
stare at my long hair.
But, you didn't see me,
and my friends cut ten inches off for Locks of Love.

I saw you,
roll your eyes at our leather coats and gloves.
But, you didn't see me,
and my brothers donate our old coats and gloves to those that had
none.

I saw you,
look in fright at my tattoos.
But, you didn't see me,
cry as my children were born and have their names written over and
in my
heart.

I saw you,
change lanes while rushing off to go somewhere.
But, you didn't see me,
going home to be with my family.

I saw you,
complain about how loud and noisy our bikes can be.
But, you didn't see me,
when you were changing the CD and drifted into my lane.

I saw you,
yelling at your kids in the car.
But, you didn't see me,
pat my child's hands, knowing he was safe behind me.

I saw you,
reading the newspaper or map as you drove down the road.
But, you didn't see me,
squeeze my wife's leg when she told me to take the next turn.

I saw you,
race down the road in the rain.
But, you didn't see me,
get soaked to the skin so my son could have the car to go on his
date.

I saw you,
run the yellow light just to save a few minutes of time.
But, you didn't see me,
trying to turn right.

I saw you,
cut me off because you needed to be in the lane I was in.
But, you didn't see me,
leave the road.

I saw you,
waiting impatiently for my friends to pass.
But, you didn't see me.
I wasn't there.

I saw you,
go home to your family.
But, you didn't see me.
Because, I died that day you cut me off.

I was just a biker,.....
A person with friends and a family.
But, you didn't see me.
Anon.
